Re: 1989 Convertible Top
All kinds of great info in this old thread. I just got a 1989 IROC-Z convertible as a father/son project. The top is shot. I think the frame will need some work also. So, I am thinking I need to cut. the top off and look at what frame repairs need to be done (hardware, screws), etc. I order a video from https://v2.topsonline.com/category/C...ps-Accessories to help educate us on it.
I may need some other convertible specific parts, but dont know yet.
We rebuilt the trunk pull down and got the circuit going for the tonneau solenoid working. The rigth solendoin is making some noise, the left one is not. We need pull the rear interior out and look at the solenoid. I suspect we have ea bad ground, but time will tell.
Put new hydraulic cylinders on the trunk. The spoiler is messed up a little below the 3rd light where people were opening and closing the trunk. I may be able ot heat it up and or glue it down. Need to rubber trim on the top.
Also, is the 3rd light the same as the couple? Mine is cracked.
Lots of stuff here.
