i just picked up a 91 trans am vert
so the other night i was cruising craigslist like i normally do when i saw what seemed like a good deal. so after loading up and driving 2 hours i was very happy with my purchase. its a 91 trans am orig paint stored indoors for the last 5 years. i guess he needed money and called one of those 300 bucks cash for any junk car place. and they decided to put it on cl to see if they could make a few bucks. 305 tpi auto. the interior is like brand new except the carpet has been pulled out and top of rear seat is cracked bad. the front seats look great. needs a fuel pump top and paint but for $650.00 i couldnt pass it up. the underside dosnt even have surface rust on bolts. the car looks like its 6 months old underneath. so soon it will turn out like my daytona pace car. i hope this is the rite thread to post restoration pics ive included just a couple pics. i will have it off my trailer at my shop on wend so i can get more pics. last is my dt500 car

Nice buy. I have 3 ASC convertibles all 350's A GTA, A Trans Am and a Formula convertible. I also have 3 83 Daytona 500 cars. I have material (new) from Recaro to redo Recaros in pace car. The leather, suede pigskin insert and Pallex cloth. I'm selling that. I also have Aero rims and caps, steering wheels etc..
Nice convertible for the price

Nice find and it will probably clean up well for you. I noticed that the typical TransAm decals do not appear to be on the front and rear bumpers and the door GRFX panels yet you said it was "original paint". You might want to look a little closer and see if you can prove the color with the SPID paint code. It may be a white original color but it may also have been repainted (or touched up in areas).

Dying to see what the rear taillights wiring harness looks like with the tonneau cover wiring.

I think he would rather profit from his good fortune "nothing wrong with that" rather then restore.

The old saying - you stepped in $hit come to mind.
That would be a fun restore project. Keep us posted.
