'91 GTA Tail lights,' 91 Base Convertible
Hey gents, long time reader, first time poster (well, it's been a while).
I bought some GTA lights (2 piece) and I'm looking at installing them on my Bird. Because it's the convertible version, the wiring harness is different because of the tonneau pop switch wiring.
Anybody have the wiring diagram for this conversion that applies to the ASC verts? BigBabyLou still around these parts?

Of course, I did the search. Found lots of articles that are close.
This one gets a lot of attention:
BigBadLou -http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=37
Then there are these:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...s-formula.html
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...ight-swap.html
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...ight-help.html
I guess what I really want to know is if I need to absolutely do the steering column wiring and then maybe plan on a flasher change. And then what about the wiring in the trunk for the tonneau?
Thanks guys,

So you have the 85-92 base bird tail lights, which have a separate turn signal socket, and you want to install 91-92 GTA tail lights, which also have a separate turn signal socket. Nothing complicated about this swap; it's not like the 85-90 TA tail lights, where the turn signal is built into the brake lights.
All you should have to do is snip-out the two 194 tail sockets on each side of the harness and splice their wires together, then replace the two-wire turn signal sockets with two-wire 90* sockets(like the brake light sockets). That should be it... no messing with the steering column, no messing with flashers... plug-n-play.

Do I need to worry about those 194 sockets not being connected?

After I moved back to GA from CA, the community of gents I used to hang with in NorCal went away and with that went the TGO posting too. I just haven't had the time to look for that crowd around here in ATL. I go to the "F-Body Gathering" here in Marietta every year to either participate or just walk around. Heck, one year I won best in class (Mildly Modded 3rd Gen or something like that).
I never want to part with this car.
