Re: Horribly Overpriced?
I'd say its WAY overpriced, and I'd be willing to bet the mileage is actually 173k. From the description they give, I'd probably run away from it even if I was willing to pay that much for one. Sounds like they are trying too hard to make it sound good. "Savor the buttery smooth transmission", seriously?? I don't see the floor mats on the floors, that's not the aerowing spoiler, the seats look to be from a fourthgen, radio doesn't look like OEM(CD player), I'm not sure on this but I don't think the top is original as I don't recall ever seeing a thirdgen vert with a tan top, and all of the listed "options" are standard features. Like the "live axle rear suspension w/coil springs" and the "full length center console". I've also never heard of "safety interlocking door latches", I'm not even sure what in the hell that is supposed to mean?? That the door latches shut when you close it? The ad was definitely written by someone that has no knowledge whatsoever of thirdgens, and absolutely zero interest in muscle/classic cars.
As to your question at the end - assuming there is ZERO rust(being its in Georgia, there's a chance), and the mileage is really 73k, and everything works as flawlessly as they claim, and the paint looks as good up close as it does in the pics, I could see it going for maybe 10k at Mecums or Barrett-Jackson. Certainly not in your average car lot. Maybe 7500-8500 on a car lot here in PA where the prices of rust free thirdgens are somewhat inflated due to rust issues being all too common.

Re: Horribly Overpriced?
Not pallex cloth, but it it's a green car, the tan top is correct
they just cut and pasted the description from some place else
The firebirds have a speedometer that goes up to 999,999.9, so if the miles are wrong, it's benn rolled back or replaced. It hasn't rolled over

I'd think the 8-9K range would be more realistic. Towards the higher end if original paint. Were mileage under 50K, I'd say $10K+. The market for these cars still isn't as strong as many think, or would like, to support the asking price.
It does look to be close to fully optioned and bone stock which is a plus though.
Floor mats are replaceable, 'verts didn't have aerowing spoilers, those are original T/A seats and its a '92 so CD players were available factory. They were also available with tan tops as I have a '91 that's red with tan interior & top.

I have the exact same car. Top, seats, color, everything matches and is legit. this one is in a lot better shape than mine( mine being in multiple pieces in garage undergoing a restoration). That being said I agree the price is at least 5k to high. They might find someone who doesn't know better to pay it. It's an easy car to fall in love with.

Re: Horribly Overpriced?
I would love to know what the dealer paid for the car. The dealer is leaving some "wiggle" room in it for them. If the car doesnt sell now, I can see it dropping down to around $10k over time. And they still have a profit. The dealer probably paid on the high side of market value, and is trying to get eveything possible out of it.

Some background of my car. When i bought my car, the dealer waked away with about $1k profit. When I first saw the car, if I had bought it then, they would have cleared $4500 profit. Every week that I watied, the car dropped $500-$1000. The dealer had sent my car to auction, and it didnt sell there either. The day before I went out to pick it up, they reduced it another $500. And this was even after I had a deposit on it. (I guess there was a lack of commuication between the salesman and the sales manager)

They probably got their price point from that dealership in Chicago that has a black/black convertible for $16K. Nice detail job, but not worth the asking price.

Re: Horribly Overpriced?
That is what they do. They shop the net for what other dealers/sellers are asking for similar cars. When I went, I tried to talk them down. But the Sales manager told me that is how they get their price and I could not find one in the same condition cheaper. (He was right) The best I was able to get was a full tank of premium gas. They offered lifetime oil changes. But, a 7-8hr drive for an oil change, didnt seem like a good deal.
