Who's Got a BLACK 87 Convertible with original paint?
I'm in the middle of a full ground up restoration on my black 87 IROC convertible. Just got it back from the paint booth and realized that we completely forgot all about the windshield posts and top header. And I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't really know what color they should be. I've searched up photos of 87 Convertibles and I've seen red ones with what looks like a chassis black color on the posts and header. But then I've other color cars with these parts the color of the car. I think those are cars with repaint though? My car is black and whats left of the original color and finish on these parts appears to be a low gloss black but not the same as the body color. Anybody got an original paint black 87 convertible or do any of you know without any doubt 1000% sure how these were painted?

Re: Who's Got a BLACK 87 Convertible with original paint?
I have a black 87 Iroc Z ragtop with 45,000 miles. The car is a vin 2 car that was the special edition ASC cars built with the numbered special edition tag on the dash. Original paint all gloss black I have seen a poster of a red prototype 86 or early 87 RED vert with the black windshield and header in black. I don't think that there were any cars that had the black on the header and post that were regular ordered factory cars. Maybe a couple that were used in the design process for GM by ASC. Just my opinion! JIM

My all original (tho recently repainted) '87 Vert was factory Gloss Black and the windshield post and header were both Gloss Black also. FYI.
