Rubber piece on rear release cable for convertible

Does anyone know what the rubber "grommet" piece is called on the rear release cable- for a 1989 IROC convertible- where the cable attaches to the release mechanism ?? And where I can find one without having to buy the whole release cable assembly... I have the cable but I'm missing that rubber piece. It goes into the U shaped piece that is part of the assembly under the tonneau cover. Just picked up a black with red accent stripes IROC Z convertible and it may be the most fun I've had in a car...

Are you referring to the plastic handle that the cable attaches to in order to pull and rotate the lever releasing the pin? I may have one.

Re: Rubber piece on rear release cable for convertible

I'm not sure it's a plastic piece. it appears to be a rubber piece but I could be wrong. It would be before where the cable attaches to the release lever, and it goes into the U shaped opening in the bracket that is attached to the release lever mechanism. Can you show me a picture ? My computer skills are less than stellar... thanks for responding

.
here is a pic someone had posted - it would be the piece on the left of the whole mechanism, where the cable enters that bracket. Then the exposed cable goes to the lever...

Re: Rubber piece on rear release cable for convertible

Pretty sure that piece isn't replaceable and you would need a new cable assembly
