Temp gauge sending unit relocate???

Is there an alternative location to put the temp gauge sending unit? When purchasing my heads I completely spaced out on that little factor and Im hoping I dont have to yank these heads off again to have them drilled and tapped to accept it. Is there a chance I can splice into the coolant temp sensor and get an accurate reading that way? Please help.........

Re: Temp gauge sending unit relocate???

on the side of the block fwd. of oil filter you will see a plug . unscrew it , screw in sending unit . good to go . you may need to lenghten wire but that location works . good luck .

Are you referring to the middle of the block or literally just in front of the filter? I wanna make sure I understand you correctly and we are talking about the same hole.

Re: Temp gauge sending unit relocate???

Uncle tom are you referring to the plug in the side of the block as in the plug you would remove to drain the coolant out of the block?

Your intake manifold doesnt have two spots for sensor locations? Wait..TPI...probably not.
