Part number for original upper hose

I dislike the routing Dayco came up with for my 92 RS 5.0. Anyone have the part number for the original hose or a better solution? I've tried the dayco, which I couldn't get all the air out of and a universal hose that doesn't fit without kinking up near the radiator outlet or the thermostat housing.

Thanks

Re: Part number for original upper hose

If it kinks up, perhaps shortening it would help. Some hoses are made a bit long. Which can be helpful, unless you're looking for a taught, clean fit. You should be running into 2 V8 hoses from each aftermarket mfgr. One TBI/4bbl, and one for Tennessee Porsche Injection.

Re: Part number for original upper hose

I'll have to try that Gates hose. The biggest problem I have with the Dayco hose is instead of the hose sitting on the hose holder off the alternator, it runs up over top of the edge of the alternator bracket. I tried twisting it and tightening the clamp to no avail. I knew I should've kept my old radiator hose lol

Re: Part number for original upper hose

jmd, I shortened the universal hose as much as I could. Just to get around town until payday, I rerouted the hose around the alternator and over the engine hoist bracket. Still leaking and its rubbing on that bracket to boot.

Re: Part number for original upper hose

Yeah guys, the Gates hose is the correct routing. I feel the need to find out whoever makes Dayco hoses and tell them the one for our cars is incorrect. Thanks for the suggestions!
