Datalogging 16196396 ECM

Has anyone succesfully been able to do datalogging with this ecm(16196396)? This is what I have in my 1994 Chev k2500. I recently did an engine swap and had a custom chip burned. I would like to do some datalogging to see if the chip could be tuned better. This seems to be an odd ecm so I havn't found much support for it. I have built my own cable for 160 baud/pin E and have also purchased a prebuilt cable that is supposed to work at 8192 or 160 baud. It has two different wires for the different speeds. I have tried both cables with TTS Datamaster, winaldl, Tunerpro, carbytes, with no luck. The closest I have come was some raw data being displayed with winaldl using 160 buad. I'm not sure if this ecm is 8192 or 160 baud. When I have tried at 8192 baud I use pin M on the aldl. Any suggestions?

Yes to pin M, and 8192.
He might have used a different code then was original. Try to link with it using the stock chip.

Thanks for the info Grumpy. Now I know at least what baud rate to use. Any recomendations on software to use? Is there some software that would give me just the datastream so I could at least make sure there is communication going on? Or maybe some other test to make sure my cable is working? You mention that my custom chip could have a different code from the stock. Do you mean the broadcast code? I though the ecm model was the only thing that determined the format of the data stream. Sorry for all the questions I'm just still trying to learn.

There are several different codes, ie masks that will run in that PCM. So you may have to play around some figuring out which one it is. ie trying several late model truck applications.

I'd imagine Diacom would read it.

If you can read the .bin and email it to me, I might be able to figure out what mask your dealing with.
