Where are you mounting your stand alone ECM?
I have a Holley Commander 950 Pro with Injector convertor box and I am wondering where people are mounting their stand alone systems? If you are mounting under the passenger side dash, what are you using to mount the controllers? Any pictures would help to me give me ideas.

I have a FAST XFI, and since it has a pretty red anodized aluminum housing, plus LEDs that blink whenever an injector fires, I mounted it on the right-hand kick panel in the passenger footbox. It's out in the open, for everyone to see. It tucked in nicely with the rollbar.

Got any pictures? Are you running a converter box for low Imp injectors, or is it built in to the XFI? I would like to mount everything in the factory location under the dash, but don't know how to go abount mounting the multiple items in the same location.

I mounted my ecu right below where the stock computer is. It was a nice fit and doesn't get in the way of the passenger's leg room.

At the time I didn't know if the stock ecu controlled anything, so I didn't want another variable if there were problems. I guess now, I just haven't gotten around to removing it.

I wonder if there is a way to mount everything under the panel so that you don't show everything?

Re: Where are you mounting your stand alone ECM?
How is it going. I just have to say that i love your car and that it is very inspiring for me to see an incredible build. Ironically enough i have pretty similar build going on myself. But mine is a little less extreme than yours. Anyway, i was wondering how the holley 950 commander is working with your build since you have a procharger? Are you able to tune it for a decent idle and drivability. It appears that are obtaining awsome HP & TQ numbers. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

I think it is a great system. I have the pro version with the wideband O2 on the passenger side and then a Innovate Motorsport Wideband O2 on the driver side and they both work great. With a solid roller cam I got the idle set at around 850-900 rpm

Re: Where are you mounting your stand alone ECM?
It sounds like you have car really dialed in. Are you using the inovative sports WB O2 for display only or do you have it tied into 950 for control? Are you happy with the overall drivability of the system "no dead spots in the tune"?

The Innovate is for display/tuning only. I am really pleased with the overall system. I have yet to drive the car(got to get the ECM mounted) and a few things bolted in.

Excellent. If you dont mind, can i ask what you have invested in the Pro 950 & Inovative WB?
I am interested in the FAST XFI but it is kind of costly.

Re: Where are you mounting your stand alone ECM?
I was under my dash this morning and all I can do is shake my head and wonder where the hell am I going to mount 3 seperate boxes? I thought it would be perfect if I mounted them flush up against the firewall. But then you would have sheet metal screws protruding out of the firewall into the engine bay and well that looks like ***.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Mounting the ECM in the location that you have placed it, are you able to reattach the stock plastic cover?

I'm not sure b/c I don't have that plastic cover. I don't think that it would fit over the ecm though as is.

Re: Where are you mounting your stand alone ECM?
I might now actually re-mount mine like that, it'd be alot easier to access. Right now my Megasquirt is mounted on the firewall. On my car, where was some kind of floor fent or something that mounted the firewall right behind the heater box. I just took the vent off (I never use floor vents anyways), made a metal plate, put the gasket back on and screw it over the hole. The just mounted the MS to that. Out of the way and semi-accessible when I need it

I'd really love to see pictures if you have any. This is the same way I think I may go. I have completely gutted the inside of dash so now there is not much to bolt to other than the frewall.
