i think i would find another shop, yes you should always unhook the battery, but i doubt that caused the damage.

Re: computer and eproms problem

i cant say forsure that s what caused the computer to get fried ,i think it was where they didnt unhook the battery ,it was clearly marked on the front of the computer (disconnect the battery before installing )i guess what i am asking what othe damage could it have done ,like the wireing or anything else

you never answered the questions, I have a good used 1227302 ecm but I need to know what the letters on the eprom's you have to see if you are even using the correct eprom hnj ? .

Re: computer and eproms problem

I swapped eproms 100 times with battery connected-ign off. Never caused any damage. In fact I put eprom in 180d off and I dont think it even damaged the prom. Cant rememer on that one as was 5 years ago.

Possible the prom was wrong one and that caused damage? Not sure.

Swapping ECU in out, the battery I would disconnect

Re: computer and eproms problem

It looks like the 1227302 ecm started with the bcc hnj 16055624 and was superseded to ajuc 16080006 to ambf 16087038. this looks to be the best deal for you I don't have the ambf.bin to burn one for you. I have no idea what the p/n 1603659 you purchased.
