ecm and vats question
I was recently given a 1989 camaro rs with a 305 5spd that is missing the vats chipped ignition key, the cars in great shape and I was hoping to get it on the road and use my 1988 firebird 305 auto for parts, I was wondering if the ecm from my firebird will work in the camaro, and if so, will that in turn bypass the vats?

Re: ecm and vats question
If your car has the VATS still enabled, and you don't have the right chipped key, it will never start or run. You have to get the right key for the key cylinder. Changing the computer will do no good.
Look up VATS bypass in the search box. There is many procedures on how to do this.
Or, have the chip reprogrammed for VATS disabled.
On another note......finish your profile.
