Easiest, cheapest tpi swap for 88 truck
I have been trying to figure out what direction I want to go with a TPI swap on mostly stock 1988 C1500 TBI 350. I bought a partial TPI from a friend, it is for an 85 or 86 305, intake and injectors only. I plan on getting an 87 to 92 base to fit it to my stock heads.
I'm not sure about what ECM set up to go with.
I'm trying to decide between mass air flow system and a speed density system. Should I get bigger injectors or get a custom prom to use the injectors that came with it?
I want to make an adapter to repin in the stock harness for TPI a computer.
In researching this I see that a 305 computer from a speed density car cannot be used with 350 engine unless the memcal is replaced?
Thanks for any help, my main goal is to make it inexpensive and as easy as possible.

"In researching this I see that a 305 computer from a speed density car cannot be used with 350 engine unless the memcal is replaced?" I'm not sure where you got that idea, the 305 sd and 350 both had the same 1227730 ECU the 305 cal would run the 350 but it certainly wouldn't be optimal, you should really get a custom tune for it any way with your exhaust mods. get a 1227730 ECU and get a custom tune for it. And definitely pick up some bigger injectors those 85 tpi ones were only something like 16 or 17 lbs/hr.

Better off spending your money elsewhere on a stock TBI truck than a TPI swap. Not much to be gained with TPI. Been there and done that with my G20 van. Mild roller cam swap, Vortec heads, good intake manifold, 454 throttle body, long tube headers, and exhaust made far more difference after the ECM chip was tuned to match.
