codes 41 and 42

I have a 1989 Camaro IROC-Z with the 5.7l. The check engine light came on and I scanned the OBD1 and codes 41 and 42 came up. I took the eprom chip out and cleaned it and put back in the ECM and it ran good for about 1 day and the light came back on. Now only code 41 comes up when scanned. I checked the ground and it was fine (at least what I think is the right ground). Then I put die electric grease on the connectors for the ECM to make sure there was no corrosion and that did not help. Does anyone know what else it could be?!?!

Car: check

Re: codes 41 and 42

Code 41 is a cylinder select error, odds are the ECM is going south.

Re: codes 41 and 42

Could it just be my plugs and wires going bad?
