Ls1 (411) ecm guys
What base bin did you use to get the car started up? Im alittle ahead of myself, since I haven't even started the ecm swap, but im just curious. And any tips/advice about the actual ecm/harness install? Ill be tackling this swap over the winter. Thanks. (Im using the efi connection harness fyi)

Re: Ls1 (411) ecm guys
What timing cover?
Becareful of which balancer you use, as some thicker ones will hit the crank sensor before being seated all the way back. I had to use a thin shelled ATI with the vortec timing cover
Definately make sure the 24x ring is firmly sandwitched between the cam sprocket and balancer and torque a front crank bolt down on it. I didnt and my ring keyway opened up and was moving around alot. Making for starting difficulty and possibly higher rpm variances although i was never sure.
Base bin you want a boosted ls1 code of some sort. I used a friends 370" single turbo file but was heavily modded to work on my 400" sbc

I used the factory 5.3 truck tune that came loaded on my junkyard 411 pcm. HP tuners only allows you to flash tunes from the same operating system, unless you pay for an additional tune for whatever you want to flash. I just changed the firing order, transmission type, and knock sensor tables.
Your ahead of the game with the EFI connections harness, I built my own, from my factory harness and two truck harnesses.
I used the factory vortec balancer, but the 400 may require an external balanced balancer. You just have to mill off the amount of the thickness of the reluctor wheel.
Here's my writeup if it helps you at all.

I have the plastic vortec front cover. I currently have an ati super dampener, not sure exactly if its the thin one or not. do you think ill need to swap to single row timing chain, as I currently have a double row. A friend of mine has a turbo 370 pickup, maybe I try and get his tune when the time comes for startup. Thanks guys.

Depending on the type of chain setup, it may work. I think efi connection does have a cloyes double recommendation. If it fits behind a stock L98 cover it should behind the vortec.
I have a rollmaster chain that fit fine. I just did a stock L98 with a base cloyes double that fit behind the L98 cover
If your balancer is less than 1.35" thick or so it will work

Ok sweet. If I recall correctly, I have a rollmaster, but eitherway, its behind a stock l98 timing cover, so it should be ok. I'm hoping my balancer will work, I don't feel like spending a few hundred on another one haha. I'll cross that bridge when the time comes tho.

I had to buy a special timing cover made by eficonnection, they claimed the double roller wouldn't fit under the stock vortec cover. I think the double roller and single roller also use different reluctors as well. Might want to check that out.

Ill have to see what reluctor I have. I got the stuff from my brother who never ended up doing the swap and sold his third gen. So its a few years old.

My 24x conversion is running a mild 406. The only PCM I was able to find locally was out of a 2002 V6 Chevy truck, but I did a Write Entire of a 2003 Corvette file into it. I'm also running the 90mm LS2 drive by wire throttle body.

Well, life kinda delayed my 411 project, but im finally in the middle of it now. haha. I have the original engine harness totally removed. The efi connection harness is very straight forward and seems plug and play besides the c100 connector, the big connector on the firewall by the brake booster. What did you guys have to hook up there?

Re: Ls1 (411) ecm guys
I had factory tpi car so i hooked up/kept the gauge sending unit wires for oil and coolant temp. Kept the tach wire and the fuel pump relay, there is a green wire that goes to the pcm fuel control pin
kept the starter wire obviously and the 2 big power wires that go to starter like factory for the fuse box power. Basically those things.

Re: Ls1 (411) ecm guys
Awesome, thanks Justin. Got my 3bar map sensor today, and have a 3bar speed density base tune loaded into the ecm for initial start up. I got 80# injectors, what kinda power can be made with e85 and these? I hear mixed answers
