Accel Gen 6 DFI WINDOWS 7 - WORKING!
Hey guys just wanted to throw this up for anybody still using this.
I've been helping a friend get an old Gen 6 going and was struggling with comms with my trusty USB serial adapter.
In WinXP I could communicate but could not load an entire segment or the entire file, erroring out on Echo Mismatch.
He has an old Compaq DOS computer that came with the system, but the disks are long gone and the floppy drive sounds like a blender when you insert a disk so that was out of the question.
I have an older Dell E6500 laptop running win7 x86 (32 bit) and a docking station that provides a serial port. It's an ugly setup sitting in the rig but it's working!
I installed DOSBox and mounted C:\Calmap using DOSBox supports serial comms so using this syntax You are able to then communicate with the ECU without any problems.
To run the app from dosbox, switch drive to C: and then type calmap and away you go.
I hope this helps somebody. I wanted to throw this up there before I ask questions about the setup (which I do have) I wanted to provide something to you guys before asking for something

SYRacing - Thanks, I'm giving this a try! Getting the Z28tt running after sitting 7 years... We'll see if it works using a USB>Serial adapter...

From the Calmap folder, trouble.txt:
- Check the PC communication port hardware configuration. Calmap
expects the common standard for RS-232 ports on a PC: {COM1: I/O Addr
=03F8H, IRQ=4} or {COM2: I/O Addr=02F8H, IRQ=3}. The DOS program
"MSD.EXE" can be used to confirm this. Make sure no other devices
conflict with these addresses or IRQs. Internal modems or serial mice
are the most common causes of these conflicts.
