What to Adjust?: Double Tapping Gas to accel?

Car: 1988 Iroc-Z Red T-tops
Engine: 305 TPI LB9 55k miles
Transmission: Auto 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73 posi
What to Adjust?: Double Tapping Gas to accel?
Just more general question around tuning.
I have been running the same tune now for more then a month and it seems like it is pretty solid, idles great no overheating or lean (with NB) and shifts are as good as can be but I know my tranny is slipping and leaking fluid.
Why does the car at light cruise/idle when I stomp to mid throttle it accelerates much harder if I tap the gas let off then stomp it again?
From dead stop the WOT stomp works as expected barks tires and takes off.
could be the tranny slipping and not locking up? Or is mid throttle TCC lock settings? Mine are all stock.

Torque converter multiplication.
Works better as the RPM are up to get oil flow working on the vanes as opposed to locked up or slow rotation during cruise then trying to initiate the acceleration.

So spinning it up to lock up quicker. Also I assume I need to do this more since my tranny is slipping. Meaning it takes more RPM to lock up.
