Are these AFRs good for cold temp? What would you change?
Hi, I'm trying to do some open loop temperature based tuning. I'm looking to get the best or close to the best AFR for open loop idling. This is what I have come up with so far based on my calculations. Do you think this is acceptable? What would you change?
9.59:1 -40*F - -18.4*F
10.8:1 -18.4*F - 3.2*F
11.03:1 3.2*F - 24.8*F
11.66:1 24.8*F - 46.4*F
11.89:1 46.4*F - 68*F
12.75:1 68*F - 89.6*F
13.8:1 89.6*F - 240.8*F
Thanks

Need to give the engine what it wants, not what you think it wants.

What he is saying is facts are better than estimations. "Giving it what it wants" is based on fact. Estimations may very well be off. I've made plenty of wrong estimations.
Personally, living in Rochester NY, I take my car off the road for winter. I'm not trying to be a smarta$s, just pointing out, not to worry about conditions you won't ever see. If you live in Minnesota and plan on driving it in the winter, then as temps get lower, base your changes on observable facts. If it's put away for the winter, why worry about it.

Well what I'm saying is according to my calculations, these are the AFRs that Chevrolet programmed into the computer from the factory.
