165 or 730 for LT4 with HOT cam
I am contemplating an entirely new direction for my ecm. I currently have a 165 MAF on my 1989 GTA. I have my wifes wrecked 1992 Formula 350 sitting in the shop. Would I be money ahead to swap the whole wiring harness and 730 ECM over to my 1989? My GTA hasnt ever ran really right since I put the complete LT4 with the HOT cam in it. I converted the LT4 to use the stock distributor.
Would the 730 be easier to to tune with the short runners of the LT4 and the HOT cam? Or just stay with the 165 and play with it?
My combo:
355 LT4 reverse cooled
aluminum heads 11:1
LT4 HOT cam
42 lb injectors
52mm tb
1 3/4 headers
3000 stall lockup
3.73 gears

That being said you could also repin your current ECM to Austrailian 165 spec and run a MAP sensor on $12P. $12P is a pretty cool ECM code. It has wideband support as well as map switching and a bunch more cool stuff.
