Axle/Gears: 2.73
will this cable work?

the aldl adapter is from a scan tool and i bought the cord online. will it work to datalog? i ask because i just cant seem to get winaldl to load anything from my car. i have a 91 firebird 305 tbi.

No, that's simply a connector adapter, It does not have any of the necessary electronics to translate the signals so that the PC can interpret the signals.

Depends on how good you are with electronics and soldering.

Honestly, I've used home made (two transistor and MAX232 based) and store bought (Moates and I think it was ALDLCables.com), and the best so far has been the Moates, for convenience reliability and ease of use. The ALDLCables a second and the home made cables were not convenient, and had trouble with some vehicles (two transistor had more issues than the MAX232 based cable).

I would just spend the cake and buy a pre-made cable, since they will be proper USB based and easy to use.
