SES light question

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since I have been active with tuning and everything, but now I'm finally back to it and I have some questions about a SES light that I don't remember being present the last time I drove my truck. I had some issues that needed to be worked out, and to be honest I don't know exactly what was wrong, other than the engine was causing me fits and I never got a chance to work on it in almost 8 months. Anyhow, I got it running and driving again, but I have a SES light when at idle. It goes away as soon as I start driving. I am running the EBL Flash for engine control and the stock computer to operate my 4L60E trans. It kind of feels like the TCC is engaged when the SES light is on, but I don't know how to really confirm it. I know when I first started out with the EBL I was playing around with the TCC flags, but I haven't changed any flags since the last time it was driving. And the only changes I have made to the tune are timing and minor VE changes. The TCC light on the WUD is activated (light green), which also lead me to suspect the TCC is causing the SES light. No EBL SES's, just the dash's. No TCC flag is checked within TunerPro either. And I went back into previously used bind and non of those had them checked either. And to be frank, I'm not exactly sure what flags should or should not be checked/unchecked for the 4L60E within TunerPro. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Re: SES light question

Sounds like the re-pin isn't correct. Check that the SES wire is in ECM location A5, not A7 (TCC). If the TCC enable flag isn't set, as for a manual transmission, the TCC light on the WUD is for the reverse lockout function (firmware V2.3 and up).

Re: SES light question

Something else I noticed this morning is that the gear selection icon in WUD shows "OD" no matter whether the trans is in park, or not.

Re: SES light question

Just for clarification, you are referring to the A5/7 of the EBL, correct?

It will be that way, with the ECM/PCM combination the EBL is transmission dumb.

Yes.

Re: SES light question

Ok, Thanks Bob. the pin was in A7, so I moved it and problem fixed. Although the TCC light is on, but you had explained that it will be. Thanks again!
