HELP!!! Looking for ECM Options
Hello to all,
Here is my problem; My brother's TPI truck is run by an old Accel SFM 74022-A ecm that is apparently ruined. It is a speed density setup. Questions are:
Will a 91-92 F-Body V8 ecm can be used to replace the damaged unit?
Will it mostly be plug and play or it simply does not work, not compatible?
What would be my options?
Thanks in advance!

Re: HELP!!! Looking for ECM Options
90-92 F Body ECM's were P/N 1227730.
I'm not sure about the pinouts on this Accel ECM vs the '7730. But if all he did originally was swap this ECM for the '7730 (no re-pinning of the harness), then it should just go back the other way.
Here are the factory 7730 pin-outs if you need them...

You'd also need the correct PROM to go with the setup. Most likely an AUJP mask.
Not sure what you mean by "plug and play". If there are significant modifications to the engine (heads, cam, manifold, etc), it'll likely need some work on the calibration as you'd be throwing on a ECM set up for a stock application. At which point, you can buy the software and equipment and learn to do it yourself (highly recommended), or there are members of this board who you can buy custom chips from.
