Stripped out negative battery terminal, what to do?

I guess this comes under electronics (kind of).

Because I store my car in a storage unit, I disconnect the negative battery lead during storage. I also start the engine up every 4 to 6 weeks during storage so the negative battery terminal gets some use, more than expected.

How do I fix this? The battery is a bit too new to take back to AutoZone. Does anyone make an adapter whereby I can bolt that into the battery terminal and then screw in the negative lead? Any ideas? This is very fustrating.

Some batteries have top posts in addition to the side posts. If so, you could swap to a top-post style cable. Are you sure the battery is stripped and not the battery bolt? I replaced the battery bolt on my positive side because it stripped from age and corrosion. If that doesn't fix it, ite the bullet and take it back to the auto parts store for replacement under warranty. Even if you have to pay a pro-rated fee it is worth it for peace of mind. Besides it was a defective battery post not your overtightening the battery side bolt that caused it to strip, right?

First,
Take the battery back, the worst they will do is prorate it. They wont give you lip about terminal, its no $ off them.
Then buy one of these.

Thank you for the replies. I like the Summit part, for my next battery. I still need to fix or return this battery.
