A question in reguards to wiring...

On my 1989, Pontiac Formula.

1. What is the relay that is mounted on/by the fender (Passanger's Side) , close to the coolant resivoir, by the charcoal canister?

2. What is the relay mounted to the radiator frame (Passanger's Side) ?

3. When I remove the key from my car it makes a Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, sound. Did these cars come with some type of factory alarm? I hear it coming from the speakers, maybe not to sure?

The battery has been relocated to the back.

So there's some type of starter switch back there, how come?

Car Is Beeping But Horn Is Not Blowing

If the beeping IS coming from the speakers, and not just the Audio Alarm Assembly that is a PO mod.

Auxiliary rear starter button (if it’s not actually a disconnect) could be for some type of convenience while maintaining the car.

Re: A question in reguards to wiring...

How do I check if the sound is coming from the Audio Alarm Assembly? What is the Audio Alarm Assembly?

Re: A question in reguards to wiring...

Well those two relays seem to be hacked up, re-wired, and some type of power distributor is linked to them. please help!

You need to remove the PO added devices.

When you see a PO added device spliced into 2 wires of the same color and gage you can splice those.

You can temporarily put a fuse inline if you’re unsure.

Check pin D of the Audio Alarm Assembly to make sure it’s not being shorted to power.

Re: A question in reguards to wiring...

Usually I believe the fuel pump relay and the coolant fan relay. I got some wiring diagram copies from the library. They show the colors of the wires and that can help sort them out.

Sorry I was talking about the ones by the firewall drivers side. I thought the ones in the front were the aux cooling and horn relay, but i could be wrong. There is a fuse holder for the starting circut up there too.

A picture may help.
