84 firebird headlight motor issues...
OK, just bought an 84 firebird iron duke. I've got a problem that I can't figure out. The passenger side headlight motor didn't work when I got the car, I also had a few other minor electrical problems on the way home with the car. Turn on the right blinker and the driver side headlight would pop up and start to twitch as if it were the blinker. The next night the dash lights went out and wouldn't come back, and a few other minor issues. I was able to cure all this by patching a few loose wires, no problem. So I thought that maybe that could've been the cause of the passenger light motor not working. Plugged in the motor and it started spinning (before it did nothing at all) and it didn't stop spinning. So to check and see if this is being caused by the motor or the wiring I unhooked the good motor from the other side and hooked it to the passenger side plug, same thing. But, when I plugged it back into the driver side plug...it started spinning and didn't stop. sigh. Any clue what could be causing this? and do you think the motors are shot? I assume it's a short somewhere. Any other opinions? Anything I should check out? thanks
