No Spark From Distributer???
Alright if anyone has read my previous post, i now have power to my car, but now it turns over with no spark from the distributer (used spark tester). What should i check? I started the car a week ago and it was running fine, except it wouldn't charge the bat. when turning it off i lost all power again. I don't know what to do right now, i took apart my distributer, theres a little buildup that i will clean when i get home...
Any other ideas if that doesn't work???
Anyone know where the distributer power wire heads to?

The power wire to the coil is the the pink wire on the gray connector and is feed off the ignition switch.

I had the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the ICM in the distributor.

Re: No Spark From Distributer???
i loke the haynes book, its helped sooo much, but i actually hooked a tach to that port on the side, it works, so i know thats the tach port, but i have a red wire running from where that is and it goes into my harness. where does that wire go? thats the question i had. If needed ill get a pic of it.

pull the distributor cap off and rotor button and put a new module in it. some parts stores at one time could test them. dont know if they still do or not.

Re: No Spark From Distributer???
My ICM went out when I was driving so I'm not sure if it smokes or not. When I tried starting up my car the motor was turning over just not starting because there was no spark coming from the distributor.

Sorry to jump in here, what is the icm? Or is it just a short form for the module? Wait I just gooled it and "ignition control module".

Re: No Spark From Distributer???
Do you have 12v to the icm ?
You might want to ohm the coil to icm wires they often fail overtime.
