1988 Trans am advice needed
Ok so here is the low down. I bought a very used 1988 Trans am 5.7 with 700r4. Body is straight and the thing is mechanically good. It has been a major headache with the electrical. After many months of tracking it down I got fed up. I got rid of the computer, the wiring from the ECM to the engine and the TPI unit. I am going old school carb conversion on it. I have HEI distributor etc. I have NO power to a majority of the things that need them and the brake lights stay on causing the wire to heat up very hot. I believe the brake lights staying on is due to faulty switch as when I pulled it it was bent and wasn't pushing the button in to deactivate the lights. I curently have the dash pulled and I am going to remove the harness (I replaced the harness with a better one from a 1988 GTA). What I am needing advice on is if I am getting rid of power windows, could I get by with a 20 circuit wiring harness? Painless Wiring advises a 28 circuit but that is with power acc (windows and locks). I just want simple manual windows and locks.

Re: 1988 Trans am advice needed
I am running a electric fuel pump (aftermarket) and running relays for the pump and the cooling fans. I am going to keep all factory gauges and VSS. I know I have to install a TCC Lockup which I will do after I get the other issues fixed.
