Connector help
Hello I'm scott Ive just joined the forum I have a 91 t/a 305ci tpi and looking forward to getting to know you all
I have have two connectors right behind the air con pump that are not connected to anything one is green and the other is white can anyone tell me what there for?
Also it has dual fans but the the one on the right doesn't work ive read that when the air con is switched on it should work but the left one works when the ac is on any ideas or tips to fix this would be great?

Re: Connector help
Those connectors go to the air diverter valve for the smog pump. If your smog pump was removed that would explain why they're loose. Don't have enough experience with cooling system to chime in on the second question.

RE the fans , since you have two they are both supposed to run when the air is on. The left is usually thermal switched, ie comes on at a certain temp, which is overidden when the air is switched on.
Lots of things could be wrong there. Since the fan left side, is running it may be the fan motor on the right. Check fuses first. If they are good then get some wires like for a lamp cord or appliance cord and unplug the fan, connect the wires to the fan terminals and touch them to the car battery terminals. If the fan runs the motor is good. Then you need to start tracing wires.

Re: Connector help
Also, how hot have you let the car get. . The fan with the switch in the head stock comes on at 222 or there about and the fan controlled by the ECM does not even come on until 235 or so, stock.
It s best to buy a infrared lazar temperature gun to use as apposed to the stock gage. They sell them for as low as $20.00 here on line =

Most shops will test it with one for nothing .Just compare the reading you get from the thermostat housing to the stock gage.
