Convert mechanical dizzy to CC

On the mechanical dizzy. If you lock out the vac advance and mechanical advance, can you just change the module with a 7 pin HEI for computer control?

Or is the pickup in the non-cc distributors different?

AFAIK the pickup is the same. (functionally anyway... may not be "the same" as in, part #) Just makes a pulse as the starwheel teeth pass through line-up.
