1989 RS - Electric Cutout - Wiring Route and Hooking Up the On/Off Switch
Hey guys,
I recently bought an electric cutout for my 89 RS. I will be deleting my cat and installing a 3" cutout in its place. I also want to install the on/off switch for the cutout just below the on/off switch for the headlights. It would be on the same "panel", I would just be removing the small red bulb for the anti theft light and put the on/off switch in its place. Unless anyone recommends a better, while still accessible, spot to install the on/off switch?
I also just have a couple of questions since I have only done some simple wiring before.
1. What is the best place to route the wires? I have read about others routing it up along the shifter cable hole. Would it then come up by the ashtray or in the center counsel?
2. It is my understanding that I have two options for wires, either a constant on (orange) or a switched on (pink). Which have you guys used in the past and what do you recommend? Also, should I use the black wire to ground it?
Any other tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
