I may have a line on a harness from a 91 GTA and want to make sure I shouldn't have issues or missing components. I've seen engine bay photos of a TA before and it had less wiring passing over the left tire hump then we have on our Formy (and also a 92 Formy) so I want to make sure I pay for something I can actually plug in and use and not have to modify to hell.

First pic below is the 91 TA second is the 92 Formy (both taken from the forum here of other members cars) The third is ours as you can tell there is more wiring on the Formula's then the TA. Heck the TA only has the hood pop cable from what I can tell.

The engine harness will be the same for the same setups. Lights are in a different harness
You are seeing a difference and that Is from incorrectly routed things, added on aftermarket things and some deleted factory things (wiring and vac tubing).
If anything the GTA should have a couple more wires for the fog lights.

Thanks for the quick reply. Our formy has fog light wiring but the previous owner removed them because stones kept breaking the lens's.

One other thing I forgot to mention in the OP. Ours is a 383 with TPIS mini ram now. There isn't any difference in the 5.0 vs 5.7 harness unless one is a MAP and the other a MAF setup correct?

Also is there a difference in the harness if one has the smog crap and the other doesn't? Off hand I'm not sure where ours came from (I believe it was the upper northeast US) so not sure if the smog was mandatory on all these cars or not but either way it's no longer on the car. No tubes in the headers and the box is not there on the pass side with the hoses to it. So if the GTA harness is from a smog car is that going to matter? I don't recall if ours has extra pigtails or not off hand and it's all strapped down and covered ATM.

sounds about right on the harness differences

They all come with smog stuff, some people just cut out the wires.

Good to know. I guess when I pull this chewed to hell harness out I'll have to remove all the black plastic stuff and see when/where the wires were removed. I'm pretty sure there isn't any connectors just laying around where the smog stuff would be. Again though I wasn't looking for that when I was investigating and taking pictures of the damage at the firewall. :-(
