lb9 is the 305 right ? id say they would be perfect , they were perfect on my l98ish 350 , even with 2:73's i could do 3rd gear rolling burnouts

How much are the turbos if sold separately vs the manifolds?

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
I have a 87 Camaro 305 5spd bone stock and don't know anything about turbo's , but I'am interested in putting down more power and was looking at a Paxton supercharger to be mounted on the passenger side. Is this set-up complete bolt on and go ?. Can I use my stock TPI with runners ?. What size injectors will I need ?. Will the computer ECM have to be reprogramed ?. Do I use the stock Y pipe ?. Stock Heads ?. The car has Stock compression, will the bottom end hold up ? . Will the air pump have to be removed ? Any other information would be greatly appreciated . Thank you George

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
fits under stock hood just fine , i ran a stock hood with the setup originally
this is just the turbos/headers oil lines and downpipes.
u will need to buy 2 wastegates for 100 bucks , and an intercooler kit for around 150-200 $'s
if u ned help i could give u links to exactly what u would need
yes u will have to reprogram the stock ecm , and u will need around 42-60# injectors if u dont plan to run a ton of boost,
the stock ypipe will not just bolt onto these downpipes , but any muffler shop can modify it for u for a lil moey so ut hooks to ur factory system/ypipe , the downpipes come out in a slightly diff location and lower then the stock manifolds the stock ypipe bolts to
the whole thing was built around a tpi engine and is matched to the tpi powerband

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
What would you say, would be a good boost for my stock set up ?. How do control the boost ?. how do you increase the boost ? Where would the waste gates go ? What HP would this add to a stock motor with stock TPI runners ?. How long do you think the stock bottom end would hold up ?. Sorry about all the questions , if you have any links for me to read, send them. Do you have any pictures with this setup under the hood ? thanks George

the wastegates bolt to the headers they control the boost so u would just buy wastegates with 7 psi springs if thats all u want to run, then u can add a 15 $ boost controller to turn the boost up at will from there if u want, or u can buy different sprinsg for the wastegates for a few bucks each to turn the boost up but its just easier to use a boost controller
this will add anywere from 150-500 hp to what u have depending on the amount of boost u run , and can even more then that with some engine mods
on a stock engine if its tuned properly theres no reason u cant run 12 psi daily without issue , ive run 16 psi on stock engines with a good tune
if its tuned bad u can blow it up with only 3 psi of boost
i wa sjust checking this before i ran out the dorr when i get back in a lil while illpost some pics of it all inthe car before i pulled the old engine

I'd probably start with 8lb springs and go from there.
If you're running a stock ECM i'd get an adjustable FMU.
Nobody knows how long your stock motor will last. Who really cares though? Those motors are $200 all day from pick and pull.

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
i really like your setup and the cost seems pretty nice for what it is i'm probably not a buyer for it, but just to clear a few Qs.. i see your iroc has the alternator on the pass side. is that a serpentine setup for a 89 iroc and is that the generic tpi setup? i just know my tbi has the AC comp in that location and i think it would be interfering with the turbo on that side.
edit: i just saw in the pics of initial post that you used a v-belt and only alt, PS, water pump.

Yes, Please send me as many close up engine bay pictures that you have. g_demelo@live.com . I am trying to figure out the space and what I have to remove to make it fit. Does it mater what side my alt is on ?. And I am guessing the AC has to go. ? Thanks George

You should buy it from him before I convince him to trade, even if the turbos are too small for my 6.8 liter engine haha.

Wow !. You need a shoe Horn to put that in. How do you feed and return the oil lines ?. Do you have pictures ?. Also intercooler pictures. Can you send me your phone number g_demelo@live.com , I have a lot of questions , never did a turbo before, and the best times and days to call.
very interested, just trying to figure out if I'am able can do it.
Thanks George

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
Hrmm. Actually I think the headers hug the heads pretty good and the turbo's are in a great spot.
I'd have done the downpipe a little differently on the passenger side and would have ended up with 5 or 6 welds on it with the same number of minor bends.
His returns go into the fuel pump blockoff plate. He has a T there, with the driver side snaking under the water pump. That's how I would have done it, rather than drilling into an oil pan like most people do.
Feed looks like it's picked up off the rear china wall like mine.
I'd probably cut the WG flanges off and run two $30 internal wastegate kits.
Man, I should have went twins..

Re: twin turbo headers and turbos + other stuff
Is this the compressor map? (TO4E-60)
If I'm reading this correctly, at 30lb/hr flow and 14psi you are square in the middle of the island.
You really think these would be out of steam on a 6.8 liter ? My motor falls flat at 5800 rpm. Maybe I don't know jack about turbos still, but I'd think these would be spooling by 1800 rpm screaming by 3k.

It seems pretty clear that one of you V8 guys needs to buy the headers and get bigger turbos elsewhere. Remember a turbo upgrade is why this stuff is for sale. And I want to buy myself a twin turbo Christmas!

i ran out of mandrel bends on the passenger side downpipe , so i just used what i had laying around .i never changes it because thats all the ex system i run , both downpipes end at the bottom of the firewall. so for me that crappy kink bent pipe on the driver side didnt make much of a difference flow wise since the pipe is so short
yeah on ur engine those turbos would choke mid 5k rpms or so just like they do on mine , u could buy larger turbine housings they make some fairly large t3 housings
feed line's are picked up off the back of the block by the distributor
and as u said both darians feed into the fuel pump blockoff
