Man would I love to have these but I have to ask and please pardon my ignorance, are they smog legal? I live in CA and if I remember correctly I need exhaust crossover for EGR function. Correct?

Re: Brand new zz4 heads

Yes, unfortunately for ca emission you would need a corvette intake or aftermarket base tuned port injection egr rear feed. Dyno don has made headers for these heads in thirdgens with the egr feed.

not to be a jerk... but it looks like in the one pic, the gasket surface has a gnarly ding in it... how bad is it?

no, on the head its self. on the gasket surface by the valve bowl. maybe its the pic. looks like a ding like it got set on something hard.

Re: Brand new zz4 heads

The only surface I can see that isn't machined perfect is post 9 picture 5.
The valve cover gasket surface 1/4 of the outside edge looks like it's gouged or scraped.
I didn't even see that as a concern.

Re: Brand new zz4 heads

3rd and 4th pic. In the 4th pic the valve stem points right at it. without machining those flat, that ding will prevent the head from sealing. Like I said, Im not trying to be a jerk, But I see that ding as a huge deal. Especially dealing with aluminum and its expansion rate vs cast/iron/steel. Must be perfectly flat, or you will have sealing issues. Is price negotiable?
