Edelbrock 3860 TPI Base -Brand New
Edelbrock 3860 TPI Base. Drilled/slotted (from Edelbrock) for both bolt styles. Brand new, never installed. Looks like the last few have been selling in the low $300s, so I'm asking $325 plus shipping, which should be about 20 bucks.

Re: Edelbrock 3860 TPI Base -Brand New
So this is slotted for both heads from the factory? How is this different from #3861? They list 3861 as High-Flo Baseplate Only (aftermarket and early model heads) and 3860 as High-Flo Baseplate Only (1985-92 centerbolt engines).

I'm confused by edelbrock's statement "#3860 has been machined to clear centerbolt valve cover heads; #3861 is for all other heads." By machined to clear, do they mean the centerbolt holes?

Bump
....sorry guys I was responding earlier from my phone. Hard to really read everything real well and type a clear response.
First forget about what heads get what kind of valve covers. The bolts we're talking about are the intake manifold, into the heads. GM changed the angle of this bolt hole around 86/87 (not sure exactly). Most aftermarket heads have the EARLY style bolt hole angle, so that's why Edelbrock says both early and aftermarket. It's confusing because they use the word BOTH, but it really only refers to ONE BOLT HOLE ANGLE. That's the 3861 base that's drilled for that ONE ANGLE. ....the later 3860 base, is drilled for LATER style (often called TPI) heads with the NEW ANGLE. .....to get the base to work, they simply slotted the existing hole, so.....by definition, it now works with BOTH early AND late style bolt hole angles!!!!! Edelbrock could not have made it more confusing if they tried!!!!!!
...but to be clear, at the very least, on what I'm selling. It's an Edelbrock 3860, and regardless of what edelbrock says, the holes are slotted and machined to fit both OLD and NEW bolt hole angles.
....pics when I get home.
