Nice looking kit. If i didnt just convert last winter to serp belt i would be all over this. Just out of curiosity, whats the passengers side manifold look like?

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
This is what the manifold looked like during welding. It's coated and baked.
The front (for the crossover) is a slightly different angle. I revised it after this picture was taken. The rear vband is for the wastegate. (50MM).

do you have anymore pictures of the kit? how/ where does the front crossover sit? will this clear tall valve covers? whats the lowest you would take?

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
Some folks go under it, but I didn't want any chance of it causing a steering issue.
Won't clear tall valve covers. I positioned the turbo close to the block so I could retain the coolant overflow tank.
I'd entertain offers. I just bought a second house and I'm in the process of renovating that so I'm not thinking much about the car. If I sell it cool. If not I'll probably put the car in storage for the fall so I can focus on the vette.

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
That would be an amazing deal!
The BOV wasn't included in the first post, but I'd sell it for the right amount.
The BOV is an actual Tial unit, which was $260 new.
On3 T76 $325 new
Wastegate is some chinese thing, $100 new
So that's $685 new for those three items. I'd probably do $450. That's over 30% off new.

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
Interested. I've been thinking about doing a blow through setup for a while now. Is that T76 enough turbo to support 600HP (500RWHP) on a 350 with good heads and decent compression?

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
To determine your pressure ratio, simply use a boost calculator by inputing your cam specs, head cfm, and target flow.
For example. Your target flow is 60lbs/min (roughly 600hp). The calculator will tell you what pressure ratio your combo will be at that airflow. On a small engine (305 for example) with moderate heads that might be 16-18psi. On a stout engine, 355/383 with better heads that might be 10-12psi.
You want the pressure ratio and flow to land you in the efficient zone of the island.

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
I hear ya.
I really really need to get the vette in the garage so if I don't have this stuff sold within the next week to week and a half I'm going to put the car in storage for the winter. Then I'll decide in the spring to keep the single, go twins, part the car, etc.
I was tempted to take the 412 out of the firebird and put it in the vette, and put the 355 I'm building in the firebird.. But I'm afraid if I take the engine out of the firebird it's going to end up on the side of the road with a for sale sign on it.

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
I keep getting pms to split everything up. Here goes:
T76 with drain an drain fitting $225 plus ship
Turbo manifolds and crossover $250 plus ship
50mm wastegate $40 each (two avail) plus ship
Since the downpipe, and drain hose only fits the whole setup I will keep those.

I think its a good deal and would like to take the complete set-up.
Just give me a couple of days to figure out if that Turbo size will work for
me.
Thanks George

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
Both manifolds
Crossover with vbands
Wastegate
Oil drain block adapter + hose
Downpipe
And you are just waiting to determine if you want the turbo as well?

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
On3 T76 Turbocharger. About 2 hours of runtime.
Cast iron manifolds, based on LT1 manifolds, front crossover w/ vbands.
Turbo oil drain (braided AN fittings) including block off plate.
Hardware.
Downpipe with o2 sensor bung, vbands, cut just above control arm.
50MM Wastegate
$550 plus shipping.

That's correct, just confirming if the Turbo is the correct sizing for me.

Re: T76 Turbo, manifolds, etc
Yes. If you look at the compressor map attached to this post, I drew a line coming off the island. This line equates roughly 650hp at various pressure ratios. The compressor is capable of more, it's a matter of efficiency.

Re: T76 turbo
just got back now , lo it was a nice warm day out so we headed out on the dirtbikes ,anyways spun the oilpump up with the priming tool and i got a tiny lil bit of oil out of the turbo but i think it was just leftover oil from when i brakecleaned out the housing . so doesnt look like i need it.
still trying to decide if i want to pick it up anyways for twin turbos over the winter , or if im just going to go ahead and bolt the s475 on it , but if somone comes along with cash let them have it , u know me and my decisions lol
