SBC 383 (Short Block and Long block Pricing)
The build...
GM 383 w/ internal balanced rotating assembly One piece seal
Degrease and magnaflux the block
clean block for assembly
Surface the oil pan deck and install 4 bolt splayed main caps and fit caps to block
Bore and hone block with deck plate for 0.030
Block re-enforcement 1/3 fill of Hard Block
Machine block for rod clearance
True Deck block for 10:1 compression ratio
Remove and Replace Cam Bearings
Remove and Replace Frost plugs with brass and install oil galley plugs
Polish Crankshaft
Torque rods to spec and check big end for size, small end for pin clearance
Debur pistons and install spiral locks on pins
Internal Balancing and use of heavy metals
Balance the harmonic balancer
Balance the Flex Plate
Engine assembly hours
Line bore with splayed main caps installed
One pale of hard block
PC Seals
Pro Gear Adjustable (3 way) double roller
Cam bolts w/ locking plate
CHP-8T
H Style Rod and main bearing kit
Shop materials charge
JE Pistons Flat Top w/ relief
Eagle Ultra Light weight Crank
Melling hi volume Big block oil pump
Total Seal gapless rings
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Oil Pump bolt

The engine is still sitting on the stand and has not been put in a car or started. I'm fairly certain that you would not come close in price I'm asking with the amount of work that was done to this motor and what the cost of the rotating assembly costs are. The engine shop build sheet will come with the motor if there is any question to what I had done to it.
