Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

Hi Guys,

I need a cheap set of TPI serpentine brackets and idler pulley.
Need all bolts, spacer bracer arms etc.

I already have the air compressor, water pump and power steering units and pulleys.
If it's possible to get one of the good a4 compressors with it it would be appreciated.

I know these are cheap and readily available in the US, but in Australia they are non-existent.

I have the truck brackets I was trying to modify to fit in a firebird but I don't think that will work.

Prefer someone on the west coast as shipping may be cheaper.

If anyone is able to acquire these parts from a wreckers and ship to postcode 4014 in Australia I can throw in a finders fee for your trouble, but I've been burnt by overseas sales before so only reputable people from thirdgen, no new posters will be replied to.

Thanks.

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

If you mean the driver side bracket that houses the alternator and power steering pump, I have a nice clean one of those. Not sure if the bolts are still with it or not. Will have to dig it out. No idea what all is needed for shipping to you, that is the part you seek, yes? Get me your email address for pics and other info

Hi Henry,

No the other one, the a/c & smog pump bracket.
May also need smog delete unless you can run a shorter belt without it

Okay cool, you should do something about the post three slots up where you say you want the alternator bracket. Someone else could get the wrong idea

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

Might have the other one you mentioned at the JY here, kind of a big car town. Used to have 6-8 third gens here, now lucky to find 1-2 not all torn up. You're sure that's the one you want? I think the serpentine set ups are identical whether they are TPI or TBI aren't they ?

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

yeah tbi/tpi are the same, so long as they're from an fbody, but tbi on trucks if a different beast all together.
It just needs to clear the throttle body area on a tpi intake.
The part number I need is 10055800

Yeah, I see you can get them on the internet for $100-$150 Yikes!
Well, if I can find you one and get it can you give me at least $50 plus shipping charges? If so, I can give it a shot. LMK Henry
I'll get all the bolts too

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

Went to the JY today. There are a couple of the brackets you said you wanted. Can get them with all the bolts and the heavy bar braces( 3 or 4 I think ) that brace the bracket and components to the engine . I'm trying to help you out here, but don't really want to go through all the trouble of removing the part and buying it after I get all the way out there if you're no longer interested. Help me out here and LMK what you think about any of this.
Appreciate it, Henry
Oh, and you said nothing about the tensioner parts, but can get them also if needed. LMK

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

Hey mate,

Yeah If you can, that'd be great.
I just need the a/c bracket with tensioner and the bolts. Shouldn't need the brace bars as I've already got them, but if it's not going to be any extra cost then might as well chuck them in too.

Are you fine with doing paypal? That way we're both covered and don't have to worry about not getting paid or parts.

While you're at a JY there, do you think you could put a few more small parts inthere too?

I need a rear strut for the hatch, the plastic horn contact piece from the steering wheel, and a knock sensor or 2 from a tpi motor.

If you can grab them too it'd be fantastic, but if not its ok.

Let me know what you want for the parts and shipping and we can organise the paypal invoice and get it sorted.

Thanks again for that mate, it's ridiculous owning one of these cars here in Oz, but I couldn't imagine not owning a transAM now

Re: Australia: WANTED: TPI serpentine brackets

Okay. So you need that bracket and the bolts that hold it on and the ones that hold the components in also. The braces aren't too much more, but they are not light and will likely impact shipping costs. I can get the tensioner as well and I'm guessing you need the idler pulley attached also?. Not sure what the tensioner and pulley will add to the cost, but I'm not trying to get rich here I only want to cover all my expenses at the JY and for getting postage worked out and a small bit for effort and gas used up. Don't have any idea if a priority box that will hold it all is cheaper than another box with only weight and size considered? Perhaps you can give me a clue if you know anything about it.
Why don't you get me your email address either by PM or whatever and it will be easier to work out offsite. Paypal is great for me. I'll LYK when I get the parts and can send pics or whatever then.. These are coming off TBI cars , but there is a Caprice TBI with 350 engine for some parts like knock sensor, etc. LMK specifically what else I might be able to get and I'll see what there is.
Later, Henry
