Work with the stock Y-pipe configuration....yes
Will they connect to the stock Y-pipe without modding ....no

There are no headers made that will connect to the stock Y without welding.

But the stock Y defeats the purpose of headers.

I'm wanting shorties myself. And also wanting to just run one pipe back to muffler to more or less keep stock pipe configuration. Don't want to have to deal with headers dragging or pipes getting in way of brake lines. Of course, the intention is to have better flow and a little more HP. Is this just a pipe dream?

Also curious why you don't offer stainless steel?

I looked into it, the cost was prohibitive, I would never be able to sell them.
Next best thing to stainless....

They do look great! Will these fit with A/C installed ? Are mods required to bracket? Have any engine bay pictures of some installs, can't seem to find some good ones of the engine bay.

I should have stated that I have a 3" magnaflow y pipe in my car now. The magnaflow is one of the only y pipes that bolts up to the stock exhaust manifolds. Slp headed would be perfect for me but they're hard to find

Yes, they fit with AC
No brkt. modding

I might have engine bay pictures, I'll look for some.
here is one on the left side (no steering shaft issues like SLP)
One more (early design) right side

SLP's would be no different than mine as far as connecting to the Y-pipe.

Thanks for the photo Dyno Don. For some reason, everyone always has a shot of the driver side! Yes, if you find a shot of the passenger side would love to see it. Is it possible for you to fab a stainless steel version of these if you are paid the correct dollar amount?

Hi Don
I was looking for some shorties myself. What is the cost for yours with and without the y pipe. Also do you have paint options and pipe size options.

Thanks

They would cost half again as much out of stainless (no china stainless here)

That is good, cheap stainless is not worth it. As a young, broke man driving around a 1970 Barracuda with cheap headers I never want to do that again I want headers that will not have exhaust leaks and provide long term hassle free operation and are drop in allowing me to retain everything else in a stock configuration. Stainless is definitely on my radar as willing to pay more. It sounds like a stainless Dyno Don would be very similar to the original SLP, just better. That is very intriguing.

I used Hooker headers and Y pipe and "cat" back. The fit was great and cost was not that bad at all.
