How to Pull an Engine

How to Pull an Engine
Anyone have any tips to pull an engine out of a '91 Camaro RS? If you could include a link to a tutorial or work log, that'd be great!
Also does anyone know if the V6 engine needs to have a chain put around the engine, or is there an easy little handle I could bolt the engine hoist to?

... there is a repair manual! I have one that covers 1982-1992 pontiac firebird and when i was looking through the rack i saw one for 1982-1992 camaro. Try doing a search. Engine swaps have been covered.

not much to it I don't know why you think you need a repair manual or anyones personal experience. Your experience will be different. Just unhook everything and put the engine hoist above the motor and put some tension on it then undo the bellhousing and motor mount to frame bolts. Just get started then ask questions you can read all day long but in the end until you have tried you haven't learned anything yet. Don't be scared there is alot of people including myself on here willing to help.

Drain all you're fluids first and formost. I cant stress that enough! then disconnect all the hoses, fuel lines, ac lines and other misc stuff. pull ur harness out through the firewall, disconnect ther harness from pieces (zapstaps etc.) that have it pinned down to the car. then all that should be left is some business under you're car. ( I may have missed some stuff but thats the general idea in under 2 min of typing, lol)
