what fits and any recommendations?
I have a 86 iroc with a 350 i want to do a swap to a 6L/6.2L. This motor will get asupercharger added so you all know. i am wondering if either of the motors would fit and also if there is a way to convert a automatic to a manual trans

6.0 and 6.2L engines are both in the LS family, read over the LS1 swap sticky for the bulk of the info. Yes they fit
Whats your budget and power goals for the car? Crate LSA's are $10k right now and 550hp out of the box with a warranty. Really cant beat them dollar for dollar. Other SC kits exist from mfrs like magnacharger, whipple, procharger etc. All will fit with considerations. Largely based on budget and goals
Auto to manual conversions are well covered in the swap forums and trans forum. The process consists of gathering the necessary parts, cutting holes in the car and modifying the wiring. Compared to the magnitude of a LSx conversion, a auto to manual conversion is relatively simple

6k is going to be tight. I dont know much about the LS swap ect other that what ive read here and I can tell you, 6 k is going to be tight. You are going to need a lot of other parts. Tran, rear end, LS, super charger.... thats prob around 6k right there. Are you doing the work? If I was you, Id do a bunch of research and get a solid foundation for what you exactly want. Honestly, 6k is a bunch of money... but when holding it next to your build, its not much, Especially if paint and body work come into view....
Now, on the other hand, If you were to put that 6k into what you have now, rebuild the 350, beef up trans and rear, 6k sounds more like it. could have a nice whip. You can get great numbers from a 350. 400whp is a lot of power for the street....
I'm not saying it cant be done, or that you cant do it. Just making sure your eye ***** are good and open.

Re: what fits and any recommendations?
Most LSx SC kits are +$6k not even looking at the engine. Stock LS1 conversions are often $8-12k start to finish
I dont want to rain on your build, but thats not much, esp for a 700hp build. When it comes to a conversion, the engine is the cheap part

Re: what fits and any recommendations?
Any updates? I was looking at another guys build, and he got a 2010 ls out of a camaro with t56 i believe for 1k. Granted he knows someone who owns a yard so that helps a lot. So if you do a bunch of networking, maybe you can do it for less!!?? Networking is huge when it comes to just about anything these days. Good luck Man.
