92 firebird 305 v8 into 87 firebird v6
Hi guys. New to this and honestly not very knowledgeable. I have a complete 1992 and 1987 pontiac firebird. I am trying to swap the 92 v8 into the 87 firebird. Before I (my friends) under go this project I'd like to know a couple things. I've heard that most other the parts to do the swap (engine mounts, wiring, transmission and ects.) Can come from the 92 firebird and fit in the 87 firebird to do a easy swap. I understand some modifying will need to be done just wondering if this is true and what parts from the 92 firebird are compatible. Any help will be appreciated.

87 uses a mass airflow system, 90 and up uses speed density. Also what V8? 305? 350? TPI? TBI? Carbureted? Was the 87 a V6 or V8 car?

The 92 is 305 v8. Not sure on the TBI. And the 87 have the v6 in it. Both carbureted

The motor mounts will not work, and the wiring will not work either. You should not even have a wiring harness on a Carburated car (well aside for the sensors like temperature, oil pressure, battery etc...) as car doesn't have a computer in it. You also need to change the front coil springs as they were meant for a V6 motor not a V8 one. You got a lot of work on your hands. Is the fuel pump on the 92 305 mechanical or electric? I think the carbed 305 had a mechanical fuel pump. Good luck. Also... since when was the V6 a carbed engine? I don't think there was even an option for a carbed V6 engine in the 87 Firebird.
