Which heads are better ..vortecs .. casting #12558062 or 10239906???

here's in the info on the casting numbers ...

10239906...96-up...350.........."Vortec 5700", "L31", 64cc chamber,
170cc intake port, 1.94"/1.5" valves


12558062...98......350..........L31 Vortec, truck, 64cc chambers, 1.94/1.5, 170cc intake port


There used to be "The last word on Vortecs" link here on 3rd gen .. not sure where that went ???
I noticed the 062's don't bring as much money on ebay :\ and
wondered what the deal was !! ... seems like they are a newer
casting number ???

Now i've been wrong before. but from what i remember the only difference in the two castings is the plant they came from.

I have the 062's, and so does a friend of mine. so I have no real reference to the 906's

They are the same. They have identical ports and the same performance potential. You may find the 906's used more on propane and marine /industrial applications. They may or may not
have special valve seat inserts. There is no benefit or disadvantage for your purposes if you do get one of these heads.
