Well Boyd, I'm a member also! I joined 2 months or so ago at the time of needing to renew my car insurance. I saved about double the cost of joining when I told the insurance company.

They don't give a discount currently if you just belong to www.thirdgen.org
Damn!!

But, seriously on economic grounds there is no argument NOT to be a member!

The POC forum is very quiet which is a real shame. I do check it most days but there is little chat to reply to. Anyone else fancy propping the POC forum up a bit to get things going without distracting anyone from here?

Hello UK

I'm from Sweden and just found this part of the thirdgen forum (I've been reading the thirdgen.org board since 1997 and never saw this part).

Anyway, I was curious about how big POC are and how many f-body members you have?

I'm a member of Trans Am club of Sweden and we've got more than 600 members. I've also read that you've got very few vendors for american parts in UK, I do think Sweden has got a few more so you might want to take a look over here for common parts. We've also got a few salvage yards specialized in american cars.

Anyway, you can check out our forum http://www.tacs.nu and you can also write in english there if you want to ask something.

Actually we are a few people in the club that has talked about doing a "long run" and drive over to the UK for a few days, perhaps next summer. Are POC organizing any car meetings for it´s enthusiast or so? It'd be fun to go over there and meet some of you.

Thanks
Anders

Hi Anders,

I'm from Sweden as well but live in England since many years back, I'm a member of POC UK and currently there's about 300-400 members (and 3 TTA's in total :hail: ).

There is a number of large events where the POC attends as part of larger events put in place by AACI (seehttp://www.aacint.com/events.asp). Typicly the Spring Nats and the Summer Nats, Summer Nats being the big one, where the club have their own stand and get together. Higly recommended.

All in all at the AACI events there is a lot of Firebirds of all years and I always enjoy going if I'm around.

You can drop me an e-mail at jan_l@rsson.com if you like and I'm happy to help coordinate something between the clubs or if you like to visit just let me know.

I thought it was you when I saw your "alias". You helped me and Rico with his turning signal lights. (thanks again!).

Anyway, I'll keep this information in mind and perhaps we can arrange something when the season gets closer.

I can only agree, respect to the number of TTA:s in your club.

CU

/Anders

Odd, usually get a quick reply, when did you join?, what e-mail address did you use?, membership enquiries Ian Hopkinsonmembership@poc-uk.org
or poc facebook page, forum been pretty much dead for a while now, most members use facebook. Worth joining for insurance discount alone (my current insurer reduced premium by 15% just for being club member)
