Hello from England!!
Hi guys and girls
I'm Sarah and I'm from the Portsmouth area in southern England.
I currently own a 1991 Camaro (my first yank) which I've had since November. I've only ever had Vauxhalls and Volkswagens and sweared by then, until a good friend of mine told me to buy a Camaro. Well she was right and I've never loved a car so much!!
I don't have too many plans at the moment for her although a bit of touching up is needed on the rear bumper and more so the front (damn speed humps!!)
I'm very glad to have found a forum that's nice and busy
Anyway, thought I'd say hi...so hi lol.

Welcome to TGO. It's a fun and informative forum. There are quite a number of UK and European members. Most body type stuff is pretty universal but this is THE place for in depth technical knowledge. I've learned so much that I can only guess how much more there is! First thing to learn is that's a 3.1 v6. Just like mine. Have as much fun as you can with the car. They're great. Pity about what you have to pay for fuel though.

Re: Hello from England!!
Hiya Yeah, fuel costs a fortune over here. I pay about £70 for a full tank of fuel. So that's about $105 roughly?? We're due another hike in price come August as well which I'm not looking forward to. It won't put me off though

Re: Hello from England!!
I was in London in the early '80s and had a '67 Firebird with a 455 (7.5l) and it was painful to fill up even back then. Hate to think about running it now. But with so much fun to be had you can always find a way. I'm sure a girl with a Camaro can get someone else to pay for gas! Assuming you are a girl and not some old fat dude. It is the internet after all!

Re: Hello from England!!
Hi Sarah,
I am on the South Coast too near Brighton. I have a 87 IROC Z.
Make sure you post some pics and if there is anything interesting going on down your way stick a note up. I recently met up with another third gen owner at Santa Pod drag racing. They had come up from Ashford in Kent so there are a few of us down south.

Re: Hello from England!!
Awesome that there is a thirdgen presence over there...I visited england for a short 3 days the weekend before the jubilee...and I loved it so much. Would love to move and ship over my camaro...not sure how I would handle petrol prices, finding parts, and getting it MOT legal! I'll just keep dreaming.

Nice one. We have two shows a year in Portsmouth but there is always loads of shows going on throughout the summer we attend. You're always welcome to come along too

Thanks for that! I have changed the link. It didn't even work for me so there must have been something wrong in the link.

It's raining right now but never any snow or salt on the roads here! Only one of the reasons I moved here.

Re: Hello from England!!
The rain I can deal with, the Camaro is parked up outside, it's just the salt. It's everywhere at the moment. It always puts a grinding halt to any American car shows or meets over here. Stupid winter.....who came up with that idea anyway? Lol.

Re: Hello from England!!
Mine's been off the road recently due to a hole in the floor, but normally she's on the road all year round and my daily! It's now handy that I work in walking distance so not totally lost without her, but I cannot wait to get her fixed and back on the road. The week of Wheels Day is when she'll be MOT'd and driven once more
