Shorty Headers for 85 camaro
My son and I are working on this 85 camaro z28 and would like to put some headers on with out modifying the entire exhaust system. We are looking for some shorty headers that will bolt right in to the factory y pipe. Are there any manufactures out here who offer this or I would have to modify my system. Also any picture of your shorty set ups out there.

dont think anyone makes a set of headers that will bolt to the stock y pipe. i believe there are some companies that make headers with a ypipe that will bolt to the stock cat.

Keep in mind that the factory Y pipe is really more of a "T" pipe and is worth replacing.
I recently removed the stock one from my '85 Z28. Here's a pic:
Yikes!

awesome father/son bonding opportunity. I did a 95 with my son and did the 3rd gen by myself.
You need to buy the corresponding y pipe from the same vendor as the header. EG: hedman/hedman, hooker/hooker
with respect to which exahsut or headers etc
that horse has been beaten to death the past 20+ years. There is a sticky at the top of this section which covers all the usual suspects but, keep in mind supply and demand. As demand for aftermarket parts specific to 3rd gens dwindles, so shall the number of suppliers. bear in mind that i said specific to 3rd gens because small block chevy engines go across many products other than camaro.
One shorty is going to be just as good (i said just as good) as the next. I suggest that once you find the model you wish to buy, use nextag.com to find the best price
Also, streetsideauto.com is consistently lower in prices than Summit and jegs
good luck
