exhaust prices
I need to hear you guys prices on custom exhaust work were you are. The headers will be on 86 Firebird, I have the 3" cat and Y pipe, and 3" crossflow muffler. How much did your exhaust work cost where you are?

Re: exhaust prices
Too much for too little that fit too poorly, no matter where.

Won't come anywhere close in price, function, or fitment, no matter who no matter where.

Re: exhaust prices
Used set of Hooker headers with a custom y-pipe from a member here, dropped right in with only 2 small areas needing a little massage $250,3" dynomax cat back from another member for $100 in like new cond.
Another $50 or so in header and collector gasketts and some new jed clampetts.
$400,plus a few swears and 25-30 Miller Lites to lube the install(er)
And I had to modify the power steering bracket + 6 more Miller Lites and some hardware

Re: exhaust prices
Sir,
What I meant was how much to it cost to have the exhaust fabbed up, and installed by an exhaust shop.

See post #2.
If any letter of any word needs further explanation, be specific which one, and I'll try to clarify.

Re: exhaust prices
Any pics on how the OEM power steering was modified to work with the new exhaust. I would love to avoid having to buy a bracket from Hedman, and keep the OEM one.

Re: exhaust prices
I didn't modify mine at all.
I stood it up on spacers made from water pipe, and used the stock hardware.

Re: exhaust prices
I bought a used Loudmouth exhaust, (lightly)used set of Hooker headers, and the local muffler shop run the rest for $100 'under the table' (no cat). Y-pipe to Loudmouth... they did a wonderful job!
I mounted the Loudmouth myself- just had to switch the mounts left to right, a piece of flex-pipe to get to the muffler shop.
