Header bolt
Hi guys, I'm putting a set of hooker headers on my 85 Trans am, and I can't seem to get just one of the middle bolts on the passenger side, by the number six tube. Every time I try and get it in it feels like it's cross threading and I know that's not good. I tried dimpling the header to maybe get more clearance but that didn't help either. If I can get all of the other bolts down really tight is it ok to not have that one? Thanks.

Re: Header bolt
If you have all of the other bolts tightened down already, you might try loosening them a little so the header has some play. I had the same issue with mine (poor construction maybe?) but once I got all the bolts started I was able to tighten them all fully. Having an extra set of hands really helps!
I don't know how safe it is to run headers shy one bolt. Maybe with high quality gaskets you can get away with it for a little while. Header bolts do tend to back out over time though, so I wouldn't suggest it myself.

Start them all before getting them tightened down. Maybe install that one first.
I personally like these bolts because they have a small head and allow you to get a box end wrench on each one.
