It will bolt to the car just fine but the 85-90s have more of a curve to them and the lower bumper cover mounts won't match up. It's been a long time since I tried to put one on my 89. (thinking the plastic mesh is quite a bit different as well.
I think it could be made to fit if you took the time and played with it.

I said yes because I have had 1 or 2 '82-84 parts cars that someone had replaced the front bumper with a '85-90 firebird bumper. I never noticed any modifications to the impact bar.

Its the 4-5 lower center mounting tabs on the 85-90 front bumper cover that wont land correctly on the bottom of the aluminum impact bar due to them being made for a curved impact bar. Small issue and with a little work, I'm betting a clever solution can be had.

to my understanding, all impact bars were aluminum. so why switch, my 92 has an aluminum bar and my 84 does as well. and for being so rare, I have 3 in storage right now.don't try to cheat people who don't know.

I don't work that way, I use 5 different shipping methods and it won't give out same price as retail and not everyone has a Fedex account.
I WILL work with someone like you who has an account. But you have to also factor packing/gas which last time I checked wasn't free

Sorry, that is not correct. 99% are steel. I have been into these cars for 17 years. Built/owned 12, got into selling parts a year ago and have bought 18 cars since them. In all of those years and cars, I have only seen 3 alum. impact bars.
1 on my dad's '82 firebird
