Gforce do it yourself crossmember

I was nosing around and ran across this. Seems it might be useful for a t-5 with long tubes situation. Which I have and suck with the stock member. Drag on everything.

Anyways thought I'd see what people thought of it.

They charge the price of a prefabed powder coated piece and you get a pile of raw steel

Spend $20 and go to a steel supplier

Re: Gforce do it yourself crossmember

Just by looking at the pictures I dont think you'd even be able to make a nice crossmember for our cars out of that. The side flanges dont look big enough to hit our bolt holes. And there is so little room between the subframe and trans, you would be cutting most of that up and throwing it away.

Get yourself a piece of 3/16-1/4" angle iron, cut it in half for side pieces, then get some 1x3 rectangular tubing. Cut the bottom piece for the trans mount, then fill in the gaps to suit your needs. Pretty easy if you take your time.

And you'll spend way less in the long run.

Re: Gforce do it yourself crossmember

like said before can be done with a few pieces of square box tubing. Not worth the $149.
