1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA - Many Mods - Reduced! - $3200 [SOLD]
Greetings folks! I've been a long time member, but unfortunately, it is time to part with my 1991 Pontiac Trans Am GTA, which I acquired in 2003. I've just not had much time to spend on it recently, and I've decided that it is time to move on (both for me and for the car). The great news is that someone will end up with a very nice machine with a lot of useful modifications for a great price.
The car runs well and I've done ALL of the work on it. I'll list the features below, but I'll first take a little bit of space to let you know about a couple notables:
Okay, now for the main features list:
I think I've listed most everything. I'll augment the post if I think of anything else. It is definitely hard to let her go, but I want her to go to someone who can take care of her and enjoy.

Here are couple for the post itself:
Price is now $3200 and the car is located near Kansas City, KS. Let me know if you're interested!
The car runs well and I've done ALL of the work on it. I'll list the features below, but I'll first take a little bit of space to let you know about a couple notables:
- A/C has been retrofitted (via the right way, replacing all o-rings and new dryer and alternate orifice tube) but will need to be charged. It held and worked great for quite some time, I had to top the charge off every couple years in the past.
- There is unfortunately a broken ground effect piece on the driver's front that isn't shown in most of the photos, but in the photo set there is one that depicts the current state. I do have the piece though, so all hope might not be lost--I just haven't gotten to trying to reattach it.
- Body has around 225K miles on it. Don't worry, all suspension pieces have been replaced/upgraded and it definitely doesn't drive like an original 225K machine. Engine and transmission also have lower mileage than the body.
- Cruise Control equipment is there, but the linkage to the throttle body hasn't been configured yet. There will need to be a little effort here for cruise control to work, but if you can get the cable connected correctly, it will work fine.
- I have a LOT of extra parts that will supplement your ownership. Everything from headlight motors/parts to foglight assemblies to extra maintenance parts and some performance parts too.
Okay, now for the main features list:
- 355cid SBC, rebuilt w/ about 120K on it
- Edelbrock Performer RPM E-Tec 200 Cylinder Heads
- Comp Cams XFI 268 Hydraulic Roller Cam
- Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rocker Arms (1.6 Ratio)
- Vortec Holley Stealth Ram
- 58mm Holley Throttle Body
- 28lbs Holley Fuel Injectors
- Crane Cams HI-6S Ignition
- MSD Blaster Ignition Coil
- Edelbrock Cast Aluminum Valve Covers
- Hooker Super Comp 2055 Short-tube Headers (1 5/8" primaries)
- 700R4 Mega Raptor Transmission (around ~100K on it, has always had syn fluid, strong!)
- 2000rpm Stall Torque Converter
- 4th Gen LS1 Aluminum Driveshaft
- Rebuilt 10-bolt 3.42 Rear Axle (replaced gears/posi ~2006)
- Motive Performance Gears
- Auburn Limited Slip Differential
- Custom Programmable Engine Control Computer (ECM is factory, but ability to modify is possible with included items):
- Sale of the car includes a laptop computer with software for modifying the ECM program. It's not exactly a new laptop, but it has the software and a serial port, so it works.
- Also included is the Pocket Programmer 2 for writing EEPROM chips. Also included are some spare EEPROM chips.
- Moates Ostrich Real-Time Emulator for making live changes to ECM programming.
- I'd be happy to tutor someone on how to do all of the modifications. I've been working with these cars (and honestly, still do love them) for quite some time and would love to spend some time with the buyer and make sure you're all set!
- B&M Mega Shifter
- Ram-Air Hood with Airbox
- Pioneer CD Player
- KYB GR2 Front Struts, KYB Gas-a-just Rear Shocks
- Edelbrock Panhard Bar
- Edelbrock Box-Style Rear Lower Control Arms (beefy things, they are)
- Eibach Sportline Springs (~1" drop)
- Spohn Tie Rod Links and new steering (~2003, still nice and tight)
- Iroc Steering Wonderbar
- Hooker 3" Cat-back Exhaust with AeroChamber Muffler
- Fiberglass Rear Aero Wing (replaced after the original one cracked)
I think I've listed most everything. I'll augment the post if I think of anything else. It is definitely hard to let her go, but I want her to go to someone who can take care of her and enjoy.

Actually, yes, the car is still for sale! I actually just warranty'd out the Optima battery that had gone flat in it... So it has a fresh red-top in it now.

I can't believe you still have this. The link for pictures isn't working for me but it might be my work proxy. Does the rear have PBR brakes or drums?
You are 9 hours away from me, think it would make the drive?

I love the hood on your car, sweet deal, you have done allot of work to it. I would love it, I am sure you deleted all the smog stuff...California would not let me register it for street use:/

I made an offer before and you said no thanks.
I have a new offer....
93 Quasar Blue Corvette.
Even trade. Meet halfway.
I'm in Austin TX. I value my car at $6500. Pics can be seen on my post in Cars Wanted - Firebirds - here on TGO.

Sounds like a generous offer, but I'm afraid I'm looking to also reduce my vehicle count. Thanks and good luck with your acquisitions!

Dude you'll get a whole lot more for the Vette than the Fire Bird.At least double what you are asking.Still your Bird is a smokin deal.If you were closer I probably couldn't stop myself from buying it.GLWS

I've been out of town a lot recently and am now back. I'm renewing my efforts at getting this sold, including some local listings this time. The car is still available, any takers?

This car is the best deal on the board! I can't believe it hasn't sold!
There's a lot more in parts value alone than the asking price! Plus, it's a 91 GTA~!
"Giving stuff away' is why I have backed away from playing with the cars the last few years. I feel for you trying to sell this, sure is a great deal and with some paint (not saying it needs it-just something I'd do) it'd be a hell of a car for hardly little investment.
I hope you sell it. Good luck.
